Well, it just had to happen! Barely two months after Samsung announced that they have a 3.99mm thick LCD TV (the thinnest at that time), LG Display earlier today has unveiled their new 2.6mm thick LCD TV panel and proudly claim that they now have the world’s thinnest LCD TV panel. Read on for more.
LG Display has the world’s thinnest LCD TV panel. Only 2.6mm thick!
On October 27th, I blogged about Samsung’s 3.99mm LCD TV panel and back then, it was known as the world’s slimmest LCD TV panel (that was what Samsung claimed it to be). That was way back in October. Earlier today, LG Display has unveiled their new super slim LCD TV panel and it is only 2.6mm thick, giving LG Display the pleasure to crown their new super slim LCD TV panel as the world’s thinnest!
It has an edge-lit LED backlight system, weighs less than 4kg, blasts the display screen with a super smooth 120Hz refresh rate and supports full HD (up to 1920 x 1080). LG Display will give the world a closer look at the world’s thinnest LCD TV panel next year at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Stay tuned!
