SPOTMaps Saudi Arabia now available!

This is just a quick post to mark the availability of SPOTMaps basemap for Saudi Arabia, just released by Astrium GEO-Information Services (Spot Image). What are SPOTMaps basemaps? Where to get it? Read on to find out.


SPOTMaps Saudi Arabia now available!


SPOTMaps basemaps are some of the most common orthorectified, georeferenced high-resolution basemaps used by those involved in the mapping industry. SPOTMaps are carefully stitched mosaics of 2.5m resolution SPOT 5 colour satellite images and the newly produced SPOTMaps basemap for Saudi Arabia requires 870 mosaic tiles compiled from cloud-free satellite images taken in 2010. Astrium GEO-Information Services has kindly provided us with a poster-sized example of their new Saudi Arabia SPOTMaps basemap, feel free to take a look.
