Loopt: Taking full advantage of Google Maps

I have been following Natali Del Conte (that gorgeous tech gal on CNET) on Twitter for a few days now and today I realize that she is using Loopt to let her friends and fans know where she is and she can do that whenever she like.

What the heck is Loopt?

This is not going to be easy. It is not actually a GPS or GIS web application but it is pretty close.

Have you created maps on Google Maps before?

Yes, Loopt is a mapping application that takes advantage of Google Maps, allowing people like you to create maps on your mobile phone and share your exact location or other interesting places with your friends.

Loopt, Google Maps

Good news for Twitters!

Loopt yesterday announced that users who send tweets via Loopt now have links in their tweets showing their exact location on Google Maps. That is a brand new feature provided by Loopt for Twitters.

Bad news for Malaysians

Loopt is not available for you folks! Only those on American wireless network such as Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, Nextel, Boost Mobile and T-Mobile can enjoy Loopt at the moment.

Sucks to be a Malaysian, huh!? :-)
