Do you know that Garmin has a cool PC application that allows users of Garmin navigation devices (example: nuvi) to create their very own custom navigation voices and prompts (finally!)? Read on for more.

Garmin announces Voice Studio, the application that lets you make custom navigation voices and prompts

Garmin released a few press releases earlier today but only one caught my attention. It is the one about Voice Studio, a new PC application (PCs running Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later) that allows users of Garmin navigation devices to create custom navigation voices and prompts.

With this new application, Garmin users may now record phrases (use external microphone for best results), edit their recorded phrases with Voice Studio and upload them onto their Garmin navigation devices. It is a process that takes less than 30 minutes, says Garmin.

Bear in mind that Voice Studio is not compatible with nuvi 300 and 600 navigation devices, it also do not support text-to-speech. The application is free for everybody and here’s the download link. Have fun! :)
