ArcGIS Windows Phone 7 App released! ArcGIS Android App on its way

The new ArcGIS Windows Phone 7 app allows users to download, use and share maps while they are on the go. Wait, that doesn’t sound right. Let me be more specific. With the new ArcGIS Windows Phone 7 app, users can:

  • Access their corporate ArcGIS system
  • Explore their maps (basic navigation tools provided)
  • Find places and addresses
  • Query data and layers
  • Edit, update features and attributes

They can do all that while they’re out working somewhere in the field. Good news for those who are getting tired of carrying heavy notebooks out in the field. Here’s some more good news. The app is free and you can now download it straight from the Windows Marketplace.

Note: ArcGIS Windows Phone 7 app was first released in the US (and US only) on January 4th 2011. I have to mention this in order to avoid confusions.
