How to catch RSS feed content thieves, scrapers and plagiarists
The truth is; there are many ways for bloggers to find copies of their work on the blogosphere. Sites such as Copyscape are a fine example but unfortunately it is not automated and you have to search for copies of your content manually and many bloggers do not have the time to do so.
Earlier today, I found something better! Not only that it is automated but it is also free!
Let me introduce you bloggers to Copygator, a site that collects or aggregates RSS feeds from more than 2 million blogs and adds another half a million new blog posts each day. Copygator will then compares each post with other aggregated posts and identify possible duplicates. You only have to let Copygator know your blog’s URL or domain name and Copygator will do all the tracking for you! Cool!
Take note that Copygator describes duplicates as collisions and you can obtain/receive reports or notices of collisions (duplicates) by:
- Emails
- RSS Subscription
- Copygator image badge (visual indicator)
- Doing manual Search on Copygator
I will definitely consider Copygator as one of my Essential or Must-have blogging tools. I find it very handy and I will highly recommend Copygator to my fellow blogging friends. :)
