Chief Technology Officer for America?

Yes, that’s what Barack Obama wants for America if he’s elected as the next American President. If elected, America will have their first cabinet-level post of Chief Technology Officer!

BusinessWeek covered this story earlier today and so far the following tech figures have been shortlisted for the job:
  • Vint Cerf from the big G (Google)
  • Steve Ballmer from Microsoft (Apple geeks hate his guts)
  • Jeffrey Bezos from Amazon
  • Ed Felten from Princeton University

TechCrunch is running a poll at the moment, asking their readers to choose the best man for the job. So far results show that eCommerce extraordinaire Jeff Bezos (there goes America!) is in the lead but Vint Cerf from Google is not that far behind. If you are interested in casting your votes, please do so today.
