How to make pages & photos look better on Firefox 3

Do you know that Firefox 3 actually makes colorful web pages and photos look a little bit dull and washed out?

Firefox 3 lessens the clarity and sharpness of such web pages and photos to give users that extra performance edge, giving them a little bit more browsing speed.

Thanks to TekZilla, now you can fix that color dullness real quick. Watch the following video.

All you need to do is type ‘about:config’ in Firefox 3’s address bar to access its configuration file and search for ‘gfx.color_management.enabled’. Its default value is false, change it to true and then restart Firefox 3.

To be honest, I have done this long time ago and found that the configuration change will hit your Firefox 3’s performance. Expect to see a 10-15% performance decrease but now you can truly enjoy those colorful web pages and photos.

If you don’t like it, just change the setting back to its default value and restart. Cheers!
