Google Image Search hosts millions of historic photos from LIFE magazine photo archive

Alfred Eisenstaedt, Gjon Mili, Nina Leen, photo archives, photo collections, life magazine

Have you ever heard of photojournalists or photographers that go by the names of Alfred Eisenstaedt, Gjon Mili, and Nina Leen?

Probably not but they were famous one time ago. They shot photos, lots of photographs for the LIFE magazine but many of those photos were kept in a private archive and many have never seen them before.

Thanks to Google and their Google Image Search, 20% from the entire photo collections of LIFE photographers Alfred Eisenstaedt, Gjon Mili, and Nina Leen are now available for everybody. Those old photos have been digitized and they include photos and etchings owned by LIFE magazine dating all the way back to the 1750s! Wow!

Take note that Google will add the entire photo collections (10 million photos) in the next coming months.
