Yup! It just had to happen! Apple’s MacBook Air has another new potential killer! Samsung tried to kill off MacBook Air a few weeks ago and now we have ASUS with their new UX Series super slim, super light notebooks! Let’s take a quick look.
Just like MacBook Air, ASUS UX Series notebooks also have aluminum unibody enclosures. However, I have to say that ASUS UX Series notebook’s aluminum unibody simply looks stunning! Pretty shiny too! It must have been purposely machined to give us that shiny look and it sure looks better than the dull-looking MacBook Air. ;) ASUS UX Series notebook weighs 1.3 kg, slightly heavier than MacBook Air but it is just as slim. It runs on an Intel Core mobile processor and equipped with a SATA solid-state drive (SSD). Hmm… Just like MacBook Air, ASUS UX Series notebook also has that ‘instant on’ feature, allowing users to wake up their sleeping notebooks and start using them in mere seconds.
Too bad it sounds too much like MacBook Air. ASUS should have added some other cool new features to make it stand out from the rest. Beauty alone is not enough but it might for some other people and beauty is what the new ASUS UX Series notebooks have in abundance. :)
