Google blocks Malaysiakini, says it is a malicious site & BN is probably celebrating

Do you know that Malaysiakini has been blocked by Google? You may find it hard to believe but Google claims that Malaysiakini is a malicious site and you should stay away from it!

Google blocks Malaysiakini, says it is a malicious site

A little while back, I discovered that Malaysiakini has been blocked by OpenDNS. Earlier today, I received another big shock. Looks like Google has joined OpenDNS somehow and now Google has blocked Malaysiakini too via their super fast Google Chrome browser!

Google Chrome blocks Malaysiakini

As you can see from the above screenshot, Google claims that Malaysiakini is some kind of a malicious site but if we look closely at those messages, yes2009.asia is actually the one that is causing the problem for Malaysiakini. Google clearly states that yes2009.asia has the knack of hosting nasty malware and Malaysiakini should do something about it.

So, what can we learn from my super awesome post today? ;P

Easy, think twice before placing fancy third-party widgets/applications on your site/blog. I know they look super cool but you don’t know what’s running behind them.
