Sony VAIOs have dumped Internet Explorer

Have you heard the news that Sony has begun shipping VAIO PCs with Google Chrome, one of the fastest web browsers we have today?

Sony VAIOs have dumped Internet Explorer

Yes, I read that news from The Financial Times earlier today but what I would like to know is whether or not Sony has completely dumped Windows Internet Explorer for good or the crappy browser is still there on their new Sony VAIO PCs along with Google Chrome.

Perhaps it is more likely that both Windows Internet Explorer and Google Chrome are there side by side. Internet Explorer is normally bundled together with Windows anyway, there’s no way Sony can completely leave out Internet Explorer from their PCs.

Whatever it is, I took this as wonderful news for everybody (especially bloggers and webmasters). The thought that SONY, a major computer maker suddenly paying attention to Internet Explorer-alternatives such as Google Chrome (it’s better than IE, trust me) makes me feel that the end is indeed very near for Windows IE. Perhaps one day we can say; ‘Good riddance, IE!’ :)
