The news was first reported by Netbook Choice who discovered it by chance after stumbling about it on ASUS’s support pages. Not much is known about ASUS’s latest netbook but here’s what we have so far:
  • Powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor
  • Has a 12.1” screen
  • Comes with 2GB of RAM and 250GB hard disk
  • Possibly runs on a 6-cell battery pack
  • Preinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium
  • Supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi

Netbook Choice has reasons to believe that the new 12” Eee PC 1201HA netbook belongs to ASUS’s Seashell series and will soon replace 11.6” Eee PC 1101HA netbooks. The new 12” netbook is expected to be launched in late 2009 and should retails at $499.
