Wolfram|Alpha’s Computational Knowledge Engine is delusional

Do you know that Wolfram|Alpha’s (touted to be Google Killer) Computational Knowledge Engine is delusional? Shocking screenshot included.

Wolfram|Alpha’s Computational Knowledge Engine is delusional

On May 21st 2009, the HomeBiss blog revealed Wolfram|Alpha’s first computational error and a few days ago somebody asked Wolfram|Alpha a strange question; ‘Are you skynet?’. Much to his and everyone else surprise, Wolfram|Alpha gave the following answer (shown in the following screenshot).

Wolfram|Alpha’s Computational Knowledge Engine is delusional

Very disappointing! Geeks may find it cool but as a parent, I’m not at all amused. Frankly speaking, Wolfram|Alpha’s Computational Knowledge Engine is showing signs of delusional computation and this is bad news for children. Fictional characters and/or places have no place in query/search results unless you are purposely seeking information about Hollywood movies. Wolfram|Alpha should have done better (and I know it could) here, don’t give kids the wrong ideas please.
