World’s toughest puzzle: The Petaminx, tougher than Rubik’s Cube!

Do you know that the Petaminx is possibly the world’s toughest 3D mechanical puzzle, possibly hundreds times tougher than the infamous Rubik’s Cube?

World’s toughest puzzle: The Petaminx, tougher than Rubik’s Cube!

The Petaminx is the brainchild of Andrew Cormier (he’s nuts about puzzles!) and he gave the world the design to his awesome new puzzle (he has created many insane puzzles in the past) late December last year. I guess Jason Smith from Puzzle Forge likes Andrew’s design very much that he decided to build one for himself and it is not an easy task at all!

The Petaminx is a decahedral (yes, 10 plane surfaces!) 3D mechanical puzzle and has almost 1,000 moving parts! Watch the following video to get a better picture of the Petaminx, possibly the world’s toughest 3D mechanical puzzle.

How to build the Petaminx

If you are interested in driving yourself insane and build your very own Petaminx puzzle, feel free to contact Puzzle Forge and ask for Jason Smith’s assistance. I wish you good luck before you lose your sanity! ;)
