Lenovo ThinkPad X200: Ultraportable but heavy?

Let’s take a quick look at the brand new ultraportable Lenovo ThinkPad (my favorite line of laptops) X200 today.

Lenovo ThinkPad X200 features
  • Powered by Intel Core2 Duo processor P8400 (2.26GHz)
  • Runs on Windows Vista Home Basic
  • 12.1” WXGA screen
  • Small but dishes out HD graphics via Intel GMA X4500 HD
  • More than enough memory, 1 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM
  • No touchpad as usual, still with their old trusty TrackPoint
  • 80GB hard disk
  • Supports Wireless but no Bluetooth

As of time of writing, Lenovo ThinkPad X200 comes with a price tag of $1,138. Not that bad after considering the features that it has. I don’t really care anyway as long as it is a ThinkPad. You know what I mean.

CNET editors who gave Lenovo ThinkPad X200 a quick test drive seems to like it, giving it a very good 8.2/10 rating. CNET editors however wish that Lenovo ThinkPad X200 would have an optical drive and a touchpad. CNET editors also made a little noise about its heavy 9-cell battery pack that adds considerable weight to the ultraportable Lenovo ThinkPad X200. I don’t know how CNET editors ended up with that 9-cell battery pack since 4-cell battery pack is the standard battery pack for Lenovo ThinkPad X200!
