Europe and Asia get HTC HD2 earlier than US, leaving Americans with puny HTC DROID Eris

I have wonderful news for HTC geeks in Europe and Asia, HTC has announced that their new HTC HD2 smartphone is on the way and will hit stores in their neighborhoods much earlier than their compatriots in America!

Europe and Asia get HTC HD2 earlier than US, leaving Americans with puny HTC DROID Eris

HTC HD2

The news came straight from the lips of Peter Chou (HTC Corporation CEO), Steve Ballmer (Microsoft CEO) and Harvey Chang (Taiwan Mobile CEO):
“…Already shipping in Europe, the HTC HD2 is available around the middle of November with Taiwan Mobile and will be available throughout Asia in the coming month. The HD2 will be available with a major carrier in the US in early 2010…”

HTC HD2 is HTC’s first Windows Mobile-powered smartphone to feature HTC Sense, a new kind of UI that offers convenience to users. HTC HD2 is also the first Windows Mobile-powered phone to use a capacitive touch (multi-touch) display screen and this is one of the reasons why HTC HD2 has a huge 4.3” display screen. It runs on a powerful 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and it also comes with a 5-megapixel camera (eat this, Apple!). In the age where everybody spends lots of time on social media, HTC took notice of our current craze and fully equips HTC HD2 with applications that will allow users to access Facebook, Twitter etc.

Well, looks like Europeans and Asians have something big to look forward to in the next couple of weeks. Soon they will get the chance to play with the awesome HTC HD2 while HTC geeks in America will be stuck with puny HTC DROID Eris (should be launched tomorrow if all goes well). Ouch… ;)
