Verizon Wireless and Motorola have finally unveiled DROID by Motorola (read Motorola DROID) and it proves once and for all that Motorola is more than capable of making iPhone-killers. I will go straight to the juicy details, let us see what Motorola DROID can offer to those naughty iPhone geeks [a little bit of sarcasm included]:
- Super fast internet access via 3G and Wi-Fi
- Watch everything on a 3.7” high-resolution display screen; comes with a width of 854 pixels and can blasts the screen with more than 400,000 brilliant pixels. No more panning, feels just like your normal computer screen
- Supports multi-tasking, enabling users to run up to 6 applications at the same time
- Comes with voice-activated Google Search, giving users the rare opportunity to tell Google what to do and what keywords to search for on the internet ;P
- The opportunity to shoot photos and videos (DVD-quality) with a 5-megapixel camera (eat this, Apple!)
- Also comes with turn-by-turn voice-guided (voice-activated too) Google Maps Navigation (Beta). Motorola DROID is the first device to carry Google Maps Navigation and users can use it to find their way on the road simply by listening to voice directions

In the US, Verizon Wireless holds exclusive rights to distribute Motorola DROID smartphones and it is expected to hit American shelves on this coming November 6th for a mere $199.99 (2-year contract with $100 mail-in rebate).
