Honestly speaking, I really don’t like HTC Tattoo but someone has to deliver the news. ;) Not sure whether or not this is good news but HTC has introduced HTC Tattoo here in South East Asia late yesterday. HTC Tattoo is a new Android-powered phone but here’s the disappointing news, it’s not running on Android 2.0!
Android-powered HTC Tattoo hits South East Asia but minus Android 2.0

HTC Tattoo looks kind of cute but I personally prefer something in the majestic likes of HTC Hero but that’s my personal opinion. I’m sure there are those out there who think highly of HTC’s new funky curvy phone.
Now, let’s take a quick look at HTC Tattoo, the second HTC phone to embrace HTC Sense. What it means is that HTC Tattoo will provide users with convenience and user friendliness, thus giving users a new kind of mobile experience. Applications that users normally use such as emails, texts, photos, status updates and phone calls are all placed in one single view; thus minimizing the need to click on too many buttons etc etc.
HTC Tattoo Specification (the basic ones, those you care about)
- Runs on a Qualcomm MSM7225 528 MHz processor
- Powered by Android 1.6
- Has a not-so-large but comfortable 2.8” TFT-LCD touchscreen (resistive)
- Comes with an integrated GPS and a 3.2-megapixel camera
Sounds like a normal phone if you ask me, too bad its running on Android 1.6 and not on the awesome Android 2.0. If you are wondering why I’m crazy about Android 2.0, take a look at Motorola DROID first!
Check out your nearest HTC stores, HTC says that their new HTC Tattoo should be available in selected stores in Malaysia (suggested retail price of RM1,399), Singapore (suggested retail price of S$598) and Hong Kong this weekend.
